It's no secret that being in your 20's is an awkward age. While half of your friends are getting married and having kids, the other half still can't remember where they parked their car after a night out. In today's day and age, women are waiting until later on in life to start a family of their own. In a recent article, a 29-year-old woman shares her own personal reasons as to why she's waiting to have kids, and I think a lot of us can relate to them! Here's a few examples:
- When you're at an age where you're still trying to figure things out, you tend to feel disconnected from who you are and who you want to be. Feeling this way typically makes you want to take care of yourself before taking care of others, and that's okay!!
- If you've taken the college route, you know how hard it is to bounce back from your student loans. Starting a family is an expensive milestone in your life, and you want to feel financially stable before taking that next step. If you can't afford to take care of yourself, how do you afford taking care of a family?
- You want to be selfish and live your life the way YOU want to with as little responsibilities as possible and that is OKAY!! Do not let anyone make you feel ashamed for wanting to be selfish and focus on yourself. Take that trip, go to that concert, and buy those expensive shoes!!
