Jury selection will continue on Monday in the so-called 'boy in the box' case.

Timothy Ferriter is on trial for allegedly forcing his adopted teenage son to stay for hours everyday in a box that the man and his wife had constructed in the garage of their Jupiter home.

Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Howard Coates brought 100 potential jurors into the courtroom on Friday and briefed them on what to expect if they're selected.

The prospective jurors were instructed to not watch newscasts or read news articles regarding the case and excused for the day.

The boy's adoptive mother, Tracy Ferriter, will face trial separately.

Also on Friday, both Timothy and Tracy Ferriter were charged with child neglect. This is a new charge in the case, as they were already facing child abuse and false imprisonment charges.

Timothy Ferriter was offered a plea deal earlier this week that would have had him spending two years behind bars, but he turned it down.
