Florida Man Arrested for Pointing Bow and Arrow at People in Parking Lot

Clermont, FL - A man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly aiming a bow and arrow at people in the parking lot of a Clermont gym.

According to police, 34-year-old Matthew Del Pino was discovered by police shirtless near his vehicle in the parking lot of Planet Fitness adjacent to U.S. 27.

Police records state officers detained Del Pino while launching an investigation.

During the course of their inquiry, law enforcement located a bow and arrow in a nearby grass median.

Del Pino reportedly admitted to firing the bow and arrow once but denied pointing it at anyone.

However, two occupants of another vehicle told police they witnessed Del Pino waving the bow and arrow, menacingly directing it toward them, and maintaining a prolonged, unsettling stare.

Del Pino was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

He is being held with a bond set at $2,000.

His next court appearance is scheduled for October 23rd.
