Naples, FL - A Southwest Florida mother has been arrested after leading deputies on a car chase with her two young children in the vehicle.

Jacqueline Hough, a resident of Naples, was arrested by the Collier County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday after she led deputies on a car chase with her two young children in the car.

The incident began when deputies attempted to pull Hough over for running a stop sign in the vicinity of 55th St SW in Golden Gate.

However, Hough refused to stop, prompting deputies to activate their lights and sirens.

Hough continued driving before ultimately pulling into her own home on 17th St SW.

After the chase concluded, Hough refused to go to the ground when ordered by the deputies, resulting in the responding crews using a Taser on her.

Hough's public defender noted that she is a lifetime resident of the area, employed at an electrical company as a secretary, and the primary caregiver of her two children, one of whom is disabled.

Unfortunately, Hough's two young children, aged 5 and 6, were present during the entirety of the chase. According to reports, they were visibly upset and screaming.

During Hough's first court appearance Thursday, the state prosecutor remarked, "when the chase finally stopped and she was pulled over, the two children were in the car. They are five and six years old. They were heard yelling and screaming. I think it's safe to say their mental health was affected."

Hough faces a number of charges, including resisting arrest, fleeing police, and child neglect. She also has prior convictions for DUI, drugs, battery, and grand theft in Collier County.

As a result, she was denied bond by a judge due to outstanding warrants and has lost access to her children without adult supervision.
