LISTEN: Supply Chain Better Than Last Year But...

TAMPA -- The supply chain is in better shape now than a year ago, but a Florida expert says issues with China's COVID restrictions may keep some items in short supply this holiday season.

Seckin Ozkul is an assistant professor at the University of South Florida who runs the Supply Chain Innovation Lab at the Muma College of Business. He says the situation has improved because retailers have ordered more inventory to avoid shortages. But products made exclusively in China continue to present problems because of ongoing lockdowns and closures under that country's zero-COVID policy.

He says many companies have shifted a percentage of their manufacturing to other countries or the U-S, but he doesn't see businesses decoupling from China anytime soon.
