District Superintendent Says Palm Beach Schools Will Be 100% In-Person

The Palm Beach County School District intends to have a 100 percent in-person learning experience next school year.

Florida's Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran recently announced the state's goal to get all students back in physical classrooms.

A letter from Superintendent Dr. Donald Fennoy that went out to all school district students and employees, cites the state's push to get back to in-person classes. It says a full return to campus-based learning will put an end to simultaneous instruction, which has been a "very heavy lift for teachers and left many distance-learning students struggling academically."

The letter also notes the "improving landscape of the pandemic and the rapidly increasing number of District employees who have been vaccinated" among the reasons for a full return to brick and mortar instruction this fall.
