Amazondale : Polk County Town Becomes Latest Amazon Distribution Hub

AUBURNDALE -- Amazon plans to bring more than 500 full time jobs to a Central Florida community with its newest fulfillment center.

The company announced Wednesday that its new facility will pick, pack and ship large customer items, such as sports gear, patio furniture and larger household goods. Starting pay is $15 an hour.

Governor Ron DeSantis calls the announcement a big win for Polk County and the state.

This facility is the fourth Amazon center in Polk County alone. Statewide, the company says it employs more than 13,000 people full time and supports almost 140,000 entrepreneurs in our state, including authors and small businesses.

Auburndale mayor Tim Pospichal says he's pleased by the move, according to Amazon's release. “We look forward to the opportunities this fulfillment center will provide the residents of our City.”
